Escape into the tropical rainforest and discover Lagarto Waterfall, a beautiful hidden cascade near Río Claro. The adventure begins with an approximately 45-minute hike through lush tropical forest and along the river. The journey is part of the experience: you’ll walk through shallow sections of the river, cross rocks and make your way through the jungle before reaching the spectacular waterfall and its natural pool. Once there, take time to relax, enjoy the surroundings and swim in the refreshing waters beneath the waterfall.

This is an authentic rainforest experience away from the crowds — perfect for travelers looking for nature, adventure and a beautiful place to swim.

The hike is not technically difficult, but it takes place on natural, uneven terrain. There are sections where you will need to walk through the river and climb up or down rocks. For this reason, participants should have good mobility and balance. This tour is not recommended for very young children, people with reduced mobility, or anyone who may have difficulty walking on slippery and uneven rocks. We recommend wearing comfortable hiking or water shoes that can get wet.
